Hani Awad in his book “The Concept of Arab Nationalism from the Material to the Imaginary” clearly expresses his desire to approach the research of Arab thinkers on the question of nationalism by means of a historical method that is open to the lessons of modern methodologies. He seeks the conclusion that this thinking has reached in his investigation of the question of Arab nationalism, and from the outset, he makes the reader familiar with the problem that shocked pan-Arab thought and made it confront the difficulties of the underdeveloped and divided Arab reality by theoretical and ideological brilliance.
