The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) has published the nineteenth issue of its peer reviewed, quarterly journal Tabayyun, a journal devoted to philosophy and cultural studies. This issue includes the following articles: Khaled Kammouni's "Anticipation and Temporality in the Arab Mind"; Brahim Mjidila's "The Anthropology of the Fallible Human: Evil's Radicalism, Banality and Symbolism"; Zahida Mohammed Taha's "Orientalist Influences and their Role in the Formation of Mohammed Iqbal's Philosophical Thought in his Renewal of Religious Thinking in Islam"; Amr abd el Aziz Moneer's "Us and Them: The Conflict of Identity in Arabic Popular Folktales: The Byzantine-Muslim Conflict in the Arabic Legends"; Loui Ali Khalil's "Islamo-Arabic Identity: Confusion between Culture and Identity"; and Rasha Abed Al-Fattah Jalees's "Science Fiction: Between Genre Determinants and the Coercive Contexts of Reception".

In the Discussions and Book Reviews section, Mounir Kchaou reviews "Against the Current: A Contribution to Improving Standards of Teaching" by Ahmad Bouazzi and Mahrez Drissi writes on 10 Proposals for Changing the School by Francois Dubet and Marie Duru-Bellat. Finally, the Translation section includes Jean-Francois Lyotard's "Philosophy and Desire" translated by Essaid Labib.
