The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) has published the twelfth issue of its peer reviewed, quarterly journal Tabayyun, a journal devoted to philosophy and cultural studies. This issue includes "How the Concept of Political Freedom is Absent from the Historical Thinking and Experience of Muslims" (Abdel-Rahim Al-Allam); "The Possible and the Impossible in Nietzsche's Worldview" (Tafraut Lahsen); "Law and Religion in Montesquieu's Philosophy" (Ibrahim Mjaidila); "What is the Likelihood of the Production of a Tunisian Islamism? A Study of Challenges" (Ali al-Saleh Moula).

From the regular library section this edition includes Françoise Dastur's article on Heidegger's Philosophy translated into Arabic by Mohammed Sabila. In Discussion and Book Reviews, the issue features reviews of Ibrahim Tolba Abd al-Khalek's "Isaiah Berlin's Critique of Enlightenment", Mohammed Obaidellah's "A New Vision of Arab Panegyric Poetry' in The Poetics of Islamic Legitimacy: Myth, Gender and Ceremony in the Classical Arabic Ode by Suzanne Pinckney Stetkevych, and Saïd Bengrad's "Confessions of a Young Novelist" by Umberto Eco.
