His major works include a number of novels including "Farah Antoun"; "From Diplomacy to Strategy: Examples from the Cold War"; and "Political Terrorism: A Study of its Roots and Human Dimensions".

His research spans all genres of Modern Arabic and Comparative Literature, with a focus on the novel and a particular interest in the fiction of Egyptian Nobel laureate, Naguib Mahfouz. Professor of Semiotics at Mohamed V University, Rabat, he holds a state doctorate in Semiotics from Meknes and third-cadre doctorate from the Sorbonne. He is Director of the journal Alamat on semiotics. His major works include: “The New Moroccan Constitution”; “On the Semiotics of Political Discourse”; “The Glow of Meanings; Semiotics of Cultural Patterns”; “Novelistic Narrative and the Experiment of Meaning”; “Strategies of Advertising Communication”; and “Paths of Meaning: A Study of Patterns of Arabic culture”.

Professor of Arabic and Comparative Literature, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London (SOAS) and Editor of the online publication Kalima. He received his PhD in Modern Arabic Literature on "Emergence and Development of the Egyptian Short Story (1881-1970), from SOAS in 1979. He has lectured at universities around the world including Oxford, Stockholm, the American University in Cairo, and University of California Los Angeles.

Chair of the Philosophy Department at the University of Kuwait, he received hi PhD in 1995 from Hull University in Britain specializing in the Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Art. His dissertation was entitled "The Role of Literature and Religion in the Development of Wittgenstein's Philosophical Thought." He is currently a professor of philosophy at Tunis El Manar University. Meskini specialises in modern German philosophy (Kant, Hegel, Friedrich Nietzsche |Nietzsche, Heidegger, and Habermas), but his areas of research interest span Hermeneutics, Phenomenology, French Theory, cultural Theory, Translation, Philosophy of religion/ Philosophy of Religion, and Islamic Philosophy/ Arabic philosophy.

A Jordanian intellectual who studied Philosophy at the Sorbonne where he obtained his PhD in Islamic Philosophy and Theology in 1968. He has received many awards and his major works include "Outside the Flock: A Study of Rejectionist Islamic Feminism and the Seductions of Freedom"; "The Sacred and Freedom: and Other Studies and Articles on the Specters of Modernism and the Aims of Modernization"; "Winds of the Age: Central Issues and Revealing Dialogues". He has also published numerous articles.

Professor at the University of Tunis specializing in Arabic civilization. He holds a state doctorate in Literature from Mannouba University, Tunisia. He is an Academic Board Member of the Center for Economic and Social Studies (CERES), Tunis. He has supervised many MA and PhD dissertations at Tunisian Universities. Among his major works are “The Discourse of the Saudi Awakening: An Approach to its Position on Secularism, Democracy, and the Jurisprudential and Creedal Other”; “The Debate between Politics, Religion, and Knowledge; Creed and Knowledge in Islamic Theology”.

Retired University Professor, he holds a state doctorate from Mohamed V University, Morocco, He worked as Head of the New Rhetoric and Literary Criticism Unit at the College of Arts and Humanities, Rabat. He has written, translated and edited numerous books including: "On the Rhetoric of Persuasive Discourse"; "Al-Ifrani and Issues of Culture and Literature in 17th and 18th Century Morocco"; "Questions of Rhetoric in Theory, History, and Reading"; and "Literary Theory in the 20th Century".

He is the Chair of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said's Chair for Modern Arabic Studies and the Director of the Alwaleed Center of Islamic Studies in Cambridge. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Arab Booker Prize and the Chairman of the Middle East Studies Award in the United Kingdom. He has previously held positions as the Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Arab World and as the Head of the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He has also served as the President of the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies and as the Secretary of the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies. Professor Malley is a member of several regional and international advisory and scientific committees. He has given lectures in various countries and has published numerous works. He also serves as a member of the editorial boards of several journals and books. He was awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his research contributions and received an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians for his community service in the field of healthcare.
