Authors Mohamed al-Baraka and Said Benhamada divide the book into two major parts. The first deals with the political experience of Ibn al-Khatib between education and practice in four chapters. The second addresses the study of the subject of politics and authority for Lisan ad-Din Ibn al-Khatib as found in two epistles attributed to him, which the authors deal with in two independent chapters.
