An Introduction to Culture Sociology

Volume 2|Issue 5| Summer 2013 |Discussions

Abstract

The book "An Introduction to the Sociology of Culture" raises a series of questions around the meaning of culture, how it has been formed historically and socially, and how philosophers and sociologists have differed in their definitions of culture. The book reaches a frustrating conclusion open to possibilities, like saying that sociology over past years has been a rich source for understanding issues of culture in general, and the sociology of culture is a very important contribution to understanding the nature of life.
