The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) has published the tenth issue of its peer reviewed, quarterly journal Tabayyun, a journal devoted to philosophy and cultural studies. This latest edition includes the following contribution "Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions: a Subject for Philosophical Investigation in the Arab World" (Hossam al-Din Darwish); "A Psycho-Analytical Reading of the Story of Joseph: Before Oedipus, a Brotherhood Complex" (Hassan al-Moudden);  "The Concept of Freedom in Cotemporary Islamic Thought" (Mohammad Msaoui's) "The Problem of Determinism ad Freedom in History from the Perspective of Ernst Cassirer", (Fouad Makhoukh); "Political Speech, from Possibility to Action: a Semiotic Approach" (Abdul Majid Nosy).

From the regular library section, devoted to global classics and translations, Wael Ali provides a translation of an Umberto Eco essay on death, while Abdenbi Hamani provides a reading of Tammam Hassan's new approach to Arabic grammar in the Discussions and Reviews section. Also included in this section is "Al-Jabri: from the State in Islam through Concept and History", by ACRPS Researcher Shamsuddin al-Kilani; and "The Internationalization of Arabic Literature, from Naguib Mahfouz's Nobel Prize in Literature to the Yacoubian Building", by Richard Jacquemond; as well as Mohammed el-Mallakh's "The Epistemological Approach in Modern Arabic Linguistic Writing". Finally, ACRPS researcher Elnour Hamad provides readers with an examination of the works of John Gray, in "John Gray and Philosophy from a Different Perspective: a Short Trip through His Work".
