Volume 10|Issue 40| Spring 2022 |Articles

Abstract

This study deals with hybrid identity in Saud Alsanousi's novel the Bamboo Stalk, from a cultural narrative perspective, linking the function of the narrative to cultural references. The first part addresses the theoretical concepts underlying this approach, while the second part analyses how this complex pattern of identity is shaped by elements of narrative fiction. The paper concludes that the narrative identity of the protagonist is shaped by cultural displays and semantic slides.
