Genomics in the Light of Scritural References in the Quran and Sunna

Volume |Issue 27| Winter 2019 |jurisprudence studies

Abstract

Genomics presents an unparalleled leap in science, and this is due to the phenomenal insight it provides into the origins of humanity, a subject that has many implications. The perspective of Islamic jurisprudence and the inclusion of an Islamic lens can provide an understanding for the implications it has, through reference to the Holy Quran and Sunnah and the utilisation of Islamic jurisprudential methods. Under this context, this study is presented to derive relevant Shari'ah rulings through the available evidence in order to enable the relationship between Shari'ah and empirical science in genomics.
