Abstract

The main themes of Arab Dawn: Arab Youth and the Demographic Dividend They Will Bring by Bessma Momani challenges the negative assumptions surrounding the region, and focuses on the positive changes among Arab youth. The Arab world is changing from within because of its youth, who are pushing for a society with a greater capacity for global competition and accountability. The connection between the Arab region and its growing youth and other societies opens new horizons for the dissemination of new norms and values in politics, the economy and society. The significance of this book lies in the author's attempt to steer the reader away from the stereotypical ideas about in the region, which revolve around violence, terrorism, conflict and insecurity. Using the language of the modern era, and with reliance on statistics and digital indicators to address the reader, this book addresses the brighter side of the Arab world, as a youthful region full of hope and aspiration to progress and access to a prosperous future.
